Aerospace Education

Through Aerospace Education, Civil Air Patrol provides external education programs for the aviation community and public at large, as well as internally-focused programs for our members. Lynchburg Composite Squadron accomplishes both aspects of this mission. Our unit conducts orientation flights in CAP aircraft, holds aerospace and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) training for youth, and hosts speakers from the aviation and cyberspace industries.

Education in the aerospace sciences and history is an essential part of the CAP Cadet Program. Civil Air Patrol has developed and provides textbooks and learning materials to all cadet members as part of this program. Completing aerospace courses is a required component of the cadet development program. Completion of these courses is necessary for cadets to promote and advance their education in their program. Upon request, CAP also provides support to Air Force JROTC units at local schools.

Visit the national website for more information on Aerospace/STEM Education Programs.
